Peirce turns 40!

Peirce turned 40 this past weekend and we celebrated by going to JMU for a football game and tailgate. This is a yearly tradition with our friends, Polly and John. Each year we learn more and more about what to bring and each year we get better and better at it. We have our food and errands down to a science. Although, this year we showed up to the parking lot on a rainy Saturday and "our spot" was already taken! We moved a couple spots over, the rain stopped and life was still good for a birthday celebration.
Polly ordered these cute cookies from a girl at work.
Peirce opened his present from me....a Tailgater bluetooth system. It comes with a microphone and can play music from your device or the radio. It really was cool and I have a feeling we will use it much more than just tailgating.

Peirce and Eddie get ready to test it out.
Here we are in our JMU finest.

And here is the group shot.

Then it was time for Peirce's birthday cake. We attempted to put 40 candles on the cake and try to keep the wind from blowing them out.
This was a chocolate peanut butter cake I made from scratch. Yummy stuff.

Next, it was time to head to the game. My favorite part is when JMU scores and the place throws streamers in celebration.
My second favorite part is halftime and the band performance. Can't beat it.

And oh, how we love to look at the mountains from the seats. See it in the back there?

Happy Birthday Peirce! Glad the Dukes brought you a win on your big day!

  1. Thanks for the pictures.Still hard to believe that my baby is 40-makes me real old! Did his birthday wish make the score board? I want some of that cake.

    1. Yes! Forgot to mention the scoreboard. It happened soon after we sat down and thankfully, we were looking. Thank you for thinking of that too!
