Time to meet my sexy new housemate. Isn't he handsome? Yes, a lovely shade of blue. That's right. We took the plunge and got a new furnace. We also converted from oil to gas, so the huge oil tank that was in the basement is now gone. I'm looking forward to a winter where we might actually feel the heat we turn on. And I'm already enjoying the additional feet of storage space since the oil tank is gone.
It was sad to have to call the oil company however and tell them we no longer needed their services. The Burys have been their customer for 21 years, so I made sure to tell them how bittersweet it was for us and what a nice company they have been. (Petro is the name in case anyone needs oil)
Amazing how much money we have "sunk" into the basement this past year. Between waterproofing it and now the furnace, we have spent a small fortune. Makes me happy though to have a dry basement and hopefully a warm house. Definitely a blessing in our lives.
What are you going to do with all that extra space? How about a guest room for your mother-in-law with maybe a full bath!!
