Last weekend, I took the boys to the Baltimore Book Festival.
This year's festival was held at the Inner Harbor instead of in the neighborhood of Mt. Vernon because the Washington Monument (yes, Baltimore has the oldest one honoring George) is being rehabbed.
The book festival had lots of areas selling books and other areas featuring author's reading or selling their books.
We walked around the harbor for a while. What do you think of my artsy shot that I took while standing behind a waterfall?
A huge Words with Friends board.
Eddie stuck in the space ship by the MD Science Center.
And Where the Wild Things Are hanging right in our own harbor. Pretty cool display.
We also went to the World Trade Center here in Baltimore. This building is the world's tallest regular pentagonal building. (unfortunately, I didn't get a picture of the outside of the building for you.) There are 30 stories. We went to the Observation Level on the 27th floor. The day was beautiful and we could see for miles.
You can see Federal Hill behind Eddie (the green grassy patch).
And here is the harbor area complete with the promenade. Camden Yards is off in the background. You can barely see the warehouse.
I liked this shot of the boats coming into the harbor. The aquarium is at the bottom of the picture.
They had a couple kids activities on this floor of the building and one thing we did was Create a Story. The artist had story boards of different scenes (i.e. ocean, forest, city) and we could draw something to add to the story.
Guess you might be able to guess whose Super Penguin this is defeating the evil monster.
And whose lovely butterfly this is because she doesn't know how to draw much else.
And whose dolphin/sea creature this might be because he wanted to use the ocean scene. Personalities expressed right here at the Baltimore Book Festival. You saw it here first.
Cool! I love the look of that awesome festival. And who can't love that view? :-D
