Meg's Birthday

I celebrated my birthday earlier this month and Peirce had a fun idea to rent a tiny house cabin for a night.

It was about an hour from our house and it was on the Rapidan River. The couple that rents it just started renting it a few months ago.

And to say it was "on the river" really means truly "on the river".

Eddie enjoyed this time as an author's retreat.

The owners lived up the driveway and they were very friendly helping us fish and telling us not to go for a walk because of nearby hunting. Uh, ok, message received.

But, the coolest thing was inside and the triple bunks! Eddie had a hard time not hitting his head.

But, he slept up top, Ben was in the middle and I was on the lower bunk with an extra blanket. It was my birthday after all. There was also another daybed where Peirce slept. I guess I didn't even take a picture of the rest of the inside. It was so tiny, but wonderfully built.

After a campfire the night before, we woke up Sunday morning and got right to fishing.

Sadly, no one caught anything, but it was just too pretty not to try.

The sun came up and gave us some really pretty sights.

Happy Birthday to me! Thanks for a fun idea Peirce!

  2. My son is very creative. Don't know where it came from. This looks like a place you will have to go back in the summer.
