Last weekend, we went to JMU Homecoming. On Friday night, we spent the night with our friends, Polly and John, in Winchester. It was so good to be with old friends and enjoy each other's company. On Saturday, we woke up to a dreary day. We knew this was coming. The weather forecast called for days and days of rain. To our amazement however, the rain held out until about 4:30 on Saturday. We got through our entire tailgate and half the game without any drops. What a blessing! The kids had fun running around. Luckily, the Ravens and JMU have the same purple color so Eddie and Ben were decked out. The Dukes had a terrible football game and that part was no fun. But, we got to enjoy the day with Peirce's brother, Will (a fellow alum) and wife Tricia and kids. Eddie got to hug the Duke dog before he decided to start whining and nearly fall asleep as the rain started. A meltdown was on the way, so we headed back to the motel and had a good night's sleep before heading home the next morning.
One thought on how our lives have changed however was when we were in Food Lion getting our groceries for the tailgate. Eddie and Ben eagerly wanted to sit in one of those carts with the cars in the front. You know the kind...you can hardly steer it, you bump into displays and have to take wide turns like a city bus. But, as they hopped in, I said to Peirce, "Did you ever think we'd be back here with our two little boys pushing them around the Food Lion in a car shopping cart." Boy times have changed.
Looks like a sucker thumber like his Dad! Times do change and that goes on forever-well it does slow down a little as you grow old.I love seeing your pictures.
